What is web design?
Web design is the visual appearance and emotional engagement created by business-to-business and business-to-consumer websites.
The realm of web design solves the problems of customer communication, enhancing the brand identity in a way that is specifically designed for the internet,
taking advantage of its strengths, with knowledge of the possibilities offered by technology.
Web designers and customers work together to create websites that are graphically appealing and engaging, easy to navigate, compatible with the needs of viewers and accessible when using different browsers and components.
What web designers do.
Web designers are tasked with combining design and navigation through the use of the available technologies:
The first step is understanding which technology to use, keeping in mind the possibilities and constraints when building a website meets. This involves communicating with clients and other professionals involved in the project.
Next, the client's needs, contents and brand are translated into structured concepts suitable for a website to meet users’ needs with color mock-ups suitable for the medium on which they will be conveyed and feasible from a technical point of view.
We then design the components necessary for navigation.
The design elements created with graphic software (Photoshop and Illustrator, for example) are transformed into components that can be used and modified on a website.
The style of web pages is agreed upon, in terms of graphics, layout, typography, colors and more.
The contents are prepared and tailored to be easily readable and well-structured following the guidelines established by the content manager.
The same web designer is responsible for maintaining the site, implementing any necessary graphic and code changes, updating and taking care of the site.
